Legal Information

Much like the United States there are similar requirements for a civil marriage (or Matrimonio Civil) in Mexico. A Justice must perform a civil marriage for it to be considered legal. This can either be done in the office of a Registro Civil or at your location. The price for this generally ranges between $300-$600 USD. The following are some items you will need before getting a civil marriage in Mexico. Always consult with a specialist before your big day.

Birth Certificate
Tourist Visa or Stamp upon entering Mexico
Doctor's Letter for both bride and groom
If applicable, a divorce decree or death certificate
